Walls Painting

Painting The Wall With A Brush

1 July 2011 No Comment

1. Use a small brush to cut in at the wall and ceiling join and in corners. With a larger brush paint the wall in bands. First, brush across the wall.

2. Move the brush across the wall in the opposite direction. The bands of paint should be about im wide and you should be working downwards.

3. When you are working at the top of the wall your next strokes should be downwards to complete the area you have covered with crossways strokes.

4. At the bottom two-thirds of the wall continue working in crossways strokes, but this time finish off each section by brushing upwards.

USING PAINT PADS

1. Thin the paint a little (with water for emulsions, turps for oil-based ones). Cut in with a small brush or pad and use a larger pad to paint in bands.

2. For precise work you can use a small pad like this. Ensure that you cover areas you don’t want painted with masking tape.
